My mother has always been a pillar of strength. After courageously surviving cancer, she was faced with a new battle in early 2023 when she was diagnosed with kidney failure. I immediately stepped away from work to become her full-time caregiver, taking her to countless appointments while also helping care for my grandmother who lived with us. Though we grieved deeply when my grandmother passed away after a brief illness, my focus remained steadfast on helping my mother navigate her health.

In 2024, after just three months on the transplant waiting list, God blessed us with the news we had been praying for: a kidney was available. My mother underwent a successful transplant on June 27, 2024, and her recovery has been a beautiful journey back to vibrant health. During those long months of caretaking, I often worried that my extended time away from the workforce would hold back my career. Yet, after more than ten months of rejections and uncertainty, the Lord opened a door no one could close. He provided me with a wonderful position at the Charlotte Rescue Mission—a role that has not only renewed my purpose but connected me with amazing people who will shape my future. Through every trial, God proved His love and provision. Praise be to the Most High!
