Overflowing Blessings

July 3, 2024

MY MOTHER, a strong woman and cancer survivor, was diagnosed with kidney failure in early 2023. This diagnosis required me to stop working for an extended period to take care of her, to take her to appointments, and also assist in the care of my grandmother who lived with us. My grandmother passed away last year and went to go be with the Lord after a brief illness. My mother became my main priority.
After being on the transplant waiting list for only three months, we were blessed in 2024 to receive word that there was a kidney ready for my mother. She received the transplant on June 27, 2024 and has since been in much better health recovering and returning to regular life.
I also thought that this period of my caretaking would not allow me to get a job and begin to secure my future, but I was wrong. After over 10 months of full-time unemployment, 10 months of rejections and 10 months of disappointment, the Lord provided me with a wonderful job at the Charlotte Rescue Mission. Through this job I have made many connections that will surely assist in my future. Thanks be to the Most High God!
