New Life in Jesus
Marvin
June 27, 2024

There are moments in life when the divine whisper of God seems to resonate within the soul, a gentle yet insistent call that says, "My child, you are wandering. Seek me with all your heart." Often, I would silence my phone, activating the 'Do Not Disturb' mode, for I feared that in answering His call, I would have to relinquish the earthly pleasures that I so dearly cherished.
As the final week of April 2024 unfolded, I made a conscious decision to remove the barriers, to listen intently for His call. The familiar ringtone of my phone broke through the silence, and I knew it was the Lord reaching out to me. In a moment of surrender, I chose to submit fully to God. I asked Him to purge the worldly desires from my heart and to fill me with His divine purpose. It was a moment of excruciating pain, as if my entire existence was being dismantled. Yet, the following day, an indescribable peace enveloped me. It was as though I had been reborn, experiencing a tranquility that surpassed all understanding, reminiscent of Ezekiel 36:26, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
This newfound serenity led to a deep conviction regarding my past behaviors, relationships, and pursuits. I found myself losing interest in the vices of inebriation and lust, and instead, I yearned to draw nearer to Jesus, to immerse myself in the Scriptures, to engage in daily prayer, and to submit to His will each day. It was as if 2 Corinthians 5:17 had come to life within me: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
